MMerdeka
in Malay means "Independence" and today Malaysians celebrate
48 years of independence.
These pictures are taken at Tugu Negara (National Monument), which is
a tribute for heroes who fought during World War II and the Emergency
period (1948-1960).

Do take note that these are not representative of the costumes of Malaysia because costumes of the Eurasians (Portuguese Decendents) and the Aborigines are not included yet.... hopefully I will include them in next year's Merdeka edition. :D
