Melbourne Memoirs } Jan '07

[

Last November, I made a trip to Melbourne with my gals, Peaz, Almond (my first two gals) and Francie (latest addition to the family).

It was a very pleasant experience, spending three weeks in Melbourne, soaked in the atmosphere of a quaint city.

.01 "Wombat Display" at Myers in the City
This is the loveliest window display I have ever seen. The lower panel of the display features miniatures and the seven dwarfs. Simply magical.

.02 Street.
I forgot this street's name, but it's at the main city street with Myers and David Jones.

.03 Flindlers Street Station
One of melbourne's most recognisable landmarks, the station was completed on 1910.

.04 Peaz (left) and Mim (Gracie's doll)
One of the doors at St Paul's Anglican Cathedral, located opposite Flinders station.
I absolutely love the twirls on the ironwork.

.05 The Main entrance of St Paul's Anglican Cathedral

.06 The Melbourne Blythe meet at Koko Black
The ambience gave a lovely homely feel to these gorgeous babes, who are nuzzled on the couch.

.07 Eva's doll

.08 Queen Victoria Market

.09 Ormond Station
This is the nearest station to where I stayed in the suburb.
Back in KL (M'sia), you can count the number of clear blue days with your 10 fingers. Thus, it was pure joy to see blue skies almost everyday in Melbourne

.10 Mornington
Francie, Peaz and Almond on the helipad

.11 Brighton
Almond's hair flowing in the cool sea breeze. I love those colourful huts.

.12 Brighton
Another postcard-perfect day! Francie thought of picking up para-skiing one day.

.13 Great Ocean Walk
This is the first time I had walked 30km. The first stretch of the walk is already filled with promises of picturesque sceneries.

.14 Dinnertime
What's for dinner? These gals sure know how to laze while the others are busy preparing for dinner. On another note, Bananas are exorbitantly priced in Melbourne.

.15 The VIEW
The view was rewarding after a hard climb to the peak. Beautiful.

.16 Koala Bear
I thought Koalas were endangered and I never thought I would see quite a number on the trail. They are easy to spot cos they are too lazy to move during daytime.

.17 Logging Track
The walk passes through what was previously the loggers' track.

.18 The final stretch
The last
kilometre of the Great Ocean Walk, our legs almost broke. And the swamp of flies did not help the situation.

.19 Twelve Apostles
This site was originally named: Sow and Piglets, but was renamed in the 1950s.
Nine limestone rocks are left.

.20 The Tourist Shot
Yes, almost every tourist would love this shot of the Twelve Apostles.

And that sums up our trip toMelbourne, Australia. There are tons more photos which I will include from time to time. :) Jooli
