Happy Hari Raya } 30th October '05

Hari Raya marks the end of Ramadhan, which is the holy month of fasting. This is a joyous occasion for the Muslims in Malaysia. It is also an occasion to seek forgiveness for past sins.

Normally, the streets of KL will be deserted during this festive period. Most of the people will take this opportunity to return to their hometowns to spend quality time with family and friends. This is known as "Balik Kampung" in Malay language.

These shots of Ariane were taken in a 1/6 scale Kampung house of the Kelantanese Architecture. Ariane is wearing the Malay Baju Kebaya with a Tudung (headscarf).

The English word "compound" which means "a group of residences" is derived from the Malay word "Kampung"
