Cameron Highlands is a weekend retreat for many people to unwind from
the busy city. The cool fresh air and the vast nature allows some reflections.
This time my gals get to enjoy their vacation on the highlands with my
friends from PhotoMalaysia.
*History*
Cameron Highlands was discovered in 1885 by William Cameron (British)
during Malaysia's colonial rule. With its fresh mountain air and clear
blue skies, it was a resemblance of the British's hometown.

Old Smoke House
This is one of the pioneer resthouses built during
the colonial times, hence the Tudor-style architecture. It has been well-maintained
and the surrounding garden has received awards.

Almond at the Old Smoke House in the morning.
Almond leaning against the tree. On the right side,
a Japanese painter is painting the Old Smoke House.
The beautiful garden.

Tea for Two: Almond and Chiffon sharing breakfast tea in the idyllic surroundings.

We went back during the evening, this photo was
taken as dusk falls.

.02 Tea Plantation
There are 2 main tea plantations in Cameron Highlands.
The location chosen for the following shots is the Boh Tea Plantation.
The other scenic tea plantation is the Bharat Plantation. Tea cultivation
in Camerons was introduced by the British when they saw opportunity in
the fertile slopping terrains.

It was a cool morning, and we went to the Boh Tea
plantation to take photos of the sunrise. It was still very dark when
this shot was taken. The first "blotches" of light appears in
the horizon. Almond and Chiffon waited patiently for the sun to paint
with its first rays.

It was not the best sunrise due to the low clouds, but it was still the
best time to enjoy the morning dew while resting on the tea bushes.

Ever heard of "Tea Apache"??

The vast rows of green tea bushes created a beautiful pattern.

Even the paparazzi
pursued Almond to this remote place.

Almond spotted the Tea Harvester pruning the top layer of leaves. Growing
tea is a labourious job as most of the tea bushes grow well on sloppy
terrains. So, do appreciate the next cup of tea you drink. :D
Almond tried her own tea harvesting. The diva complained of the back-breaking
work.

And finally, tea and cherry
pie for all the hard work.
*Behind the Scenes*
In case you are wondering why my sunrise shot is from one direction, here's
why...the rivalry in "booking" the best spots. :D This is my
first time bringing 3 dolls on a trip, they are carried in the bamboo-weaved
bag which Chiffon was sitting on.
The sun was not spotted as it was covered by thick low clouds.

.03 Mossy Forest
Mossy Forest is one of the scene for Malaysian's film, Puteri Gunung Ledang.
This tells of a romance between a legendary figure and a mythical princess.
Some think that this place looks like one of the scenes for Lord of the
Rings too. To me, the place looks like my imagination of Enid Blyton's
Enchanted Forest.
Looking pensive with the mossy canopy.

A bit of nature.

This is my favourite shot in the Mossy Forest. She looks kind of lost.
